Drafting Hallows

Nothing to note in terms of visual artworks but instead a text based update in what stirs up inside the noggin of Timothy Duong. At the beginning of this year I set myself 1 of 2 goals to complete, one was to have at least one art exhibition and the other was to write & illustrate a children's book and hopefully get it published. Whilst neither have been achieved, I know I have the ball rolling on one side of the court.

In regards to the book, I've had the idea in my head for quite some time but never drafted anything up. I've decided to finally dive head first and proud to announce that I have my first draft written up tonight.

In a nut shell, think of my Fox & Owl series of paintings coupled with a children's story that is to touch on mental health. I think it's something that suits me quite well and I hope that once it's finished it will bring awareness to those out their who suffer or know someone out there suffering from mental health issues.

I'm definitely excited and cannot wait to have some eager beaver draft readers to assist with the creation of this. From here, it's story boarding, character design and making edits to the story itself.

So please do keep tabs on this one, I'm going to ask for favours as I'm a terrible writer but if you're interested in the story and would like to help please don't hold back and contact me!

Easter Break

Hope you all had a happy Easter! This week was quite productive in terms of producing artworks for the future exhibition, I have been going through many beers and bottles of wine to get here so I have to thank all the Bottle-O's out there that continue to serve me.

I'm also expecting one of my cameras to be repaired soon so I can proceed to take some photos for this site. The trusty iPhone 5S has been the daily driver with the help of VSCO cam.

I will no longer be posting the full images of my images since that would ruin the purpose of the surprise pieces but alas there will be some teasers and snippets in the weeks to come. I'm currently planning to do a bunch of mini portraits of liquer bottles and also have my proposal in my agenda.

Rolling Stones

The stones are rolling, getting into the groove. I've got the process on lockdown, it's now time to build up the content and start a proposal. It's kind of daunting thinking about it, 3 years since my last proper exhibition.

I also did spend some time overseas earlier this year, I do feel that there are some memories best left behind. I wish it wasn't the way it is... here's a photo from the trip.

Another to the Collection

It's been some time since I've been sober so here's some drunken thoughts and works.

The Buddha bottle is seriously a terrible beer but it's a great bottle design. I've got plans for the bottles after I collect some more (I'm thinking a chandelier!) This piece will be in addition to the future exhibition.

Also below is my first planned tattoo, I've created it a couple of months ago and I'll eventually get the colouring done right but for the time being it's going to cover a few things from the cliché 'Carpe Diem' to the Asian 'Koi' tat that every Vietnamese guy gets on his arm or legs. #yolo
